This ranges from being commissioned to advise and/or negotiate prospective deals, to introducing potential partners that the firm believes would benefit from merging operations. This is an area of activity that is relatively undeveloped in the MENA region, and one that Itqan aims to strengthen by bringing to bear the collective experience of our experts in the field.
We often take the initiative in exploring opportunities for mergers and acquisitions - for example, identifying areas that would benefit from consolidation and rationalization. This currently applies to several sectors in Saudi Arabia, where new licenses and many public listings have resulted in over-crowded markets with too many small and struggling players.
