Dr. Bassam Hashim Al Sayed holds a Ph.D. degree and a Master’s degree in Islamic economics from the University of Wales, UK, and a bachelor’s degree in management and economics from King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah. Dr. Bassam has over 30 years of experience in the administrative, financial and investment fields. He began his career as a financial accountant at Al Rajhi Company in Jeddah in 1986 and then joined Dallah Al Baraka Group in 1988 and held several administrative and investment positions where he spent most of his career with the group. Dr. Bassam started his service in Dallah Al Baraka Holding Company in 1988 as manager of the consultation and training department, then he served as investment officer in the same company in 1995. In 1999 he held the position of Senior Manager of the Investment Funds Unit at Al-Baraka Investment & Development Company and Al-Tawfeek Company for Investment Funds until 2008, then Dr. Bassam joined Al-Tawfeek Financial Company (Itqan Capital) until 2012 as Head of Investment Funds, after that he moved to Alinma Investment Company, a wholly owned company by Alinma Bank and its investment arm as Head of Asset Management then promoted in 2015 to hold the position of Chief Investment Officer in the same company which achieved many important results and accomplishments during his service in the company, in addition to his supervision role in the management of brokerage (local and international) and product development departments. Dr. Bassam joind Emirates NBD Capital KSA in April 2018 as head of Asset Management Department. At April 2020, Dr. Bassam joined Itqan Capital and currently holds the position of MD & CEO.
